Game-worn Michael Jordan shoes fetch $33K at auction
A pair of shoes Michael Jordan wore during his college basketball days at North Carolina fetched $33,000 on the open market Wednesday.
Well, $33,387 to be exact.
The Converse sneakers were sold by Grey Flannel Auctions and consigned by a high school teammate of the former Chicago Bulls superstar.

The auction house claims the shoes are the earliest known fully-documented Jordan sneakers. They also have a pair from 1984 that Jordan wore for the Olympic gold-medal game, which they'll auction at a later date, according to ESPN.
Other items sold in the auction included a Babe Ruth game-used Tour of Japan hat and a 1932 New York Yankees team-signed ball. Those other items sound nice, but surely they didn't smell as sweet as the shoes of a future champion, MVP and Hall of Famer.
