Suns players wear 'I Can't Breathe' T-shirts
PHOENIX (AP) The Phoenix Suns took the court for pregame warmups Monday night wearing T-shirts bearing the protest slogan ''I Can't Breathe.''
The Suns wore the shirts before their game against the Milwaukee Bucks. They were following players, including LeBron James and Kobe Bryant, who have recently worn similar shirts in a show of support for the family of Eric Garner, who died July 17 after a New York police officer placed him in a chokehold while he was being arrested.
A video recording of Garner's arrest showed him gasping ''I can't breathe'' during the fatal encounter. Thousands have protested a grand jury decision not to indict the officer.
