John Wall, James Harden named NBA Players of the Week

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Just like the week of March 3-9 from a season ago, John Wall and James Harden are sharing Player of the Week honors.

The league announced Monday that Wall has been given the nod as the Eastern Conference Player of the Week after leading his Washington Wizards to a perfect 4-0 week. Wall averaged 18.3 points, five rebounds, 11.8 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.3 blocks, all while shooting 54.2 percent from the field.

It's the fourth Player of the Week award of Wall's young career. On the season, Wall is averaging 17.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 10.3 assists with a career-best 20.8 player efficiency rating, helping the Wizards to a phenomenal 17-6 start.

In the Western Conference, it's bearded superstar James Harden taking the honor for the week ending Dec. 14, the sixth time in his career he's been bestowed such a title.

Harden averaged 34 points, seven rebounds, 7.3 assists and 2.7 steals in three games this week, helping the Houston Rockets to a 2-1 record and highlighting his week with a 44-point outburst on Thursday. An early MVP candidate, Harden is averaging a league-high 26.3 points with 6.4 rebounds, 6.7 assists, two steals and 1.1 blocks for a Rockets team that has little business being 18-5 given their injury troubles.
