The Utah Jazz entered Tuesday's contest against the defending champion Spurs losers of nine straight and sitting at 5-16 on the season, while 15-5 San Antonio had won 10 of 11.

Suffice to say, no one was expecting much from the Jazz, even at home and with the Spurs missing Tony Parker.

But Derrick Favors poured in 21 points and eight rebounds, Gordon Hayward scored 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting, and Enes Kanter added 12 points and 15 boards to help the reeling Jazz pull off one of the bigger upsets of the early season.

Tim Duncan was dominant for the Spurs, posting 23 points, 14 rebounds, four blocks, three steals and two assists in a losing effort.

Already without Parker due to a hamstring injury, the Spurs also finished the game without head coach Gregg Popovich, who was ejected late in the third quarter after picking up a couple of quick technical fouls for arguing with officials.

Parker has been dealing with the hamstring injury since leaving Friday's win over the Memphis Grizzlies in the third quarter. He also missed Saturday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
