Emmanuel Mudiay - a 6-foot-5 point guard considered to be a likely top five selection in next June's NBA Draft - may be returning to the U.S., according to Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Mudiay, a Congolese native, was ruled academically ineligible to play NCAA basketball this season and subsequently signed with the Guangdong Southern Tigers in China. However, after averaging 17.7 points in 10 games there, Mudiay has missed the past four games due to an ankle sprain and will be replaced by former NBA guard Will Bynum, according to Wojnarowski.

Mudiay has drawn scouting comparisons to Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook.
