Knicks' Stoudemire out for Friday's game vs. Jazz
Jim O'Connor-USA TODAY Sports
The New York Knicks will be without power forward Amar'e Stoudemire for Friday's home game against the Utah Jazz.
Knicks coach Derek Fisher has opted to give the oft-injured Stoudemire a day of rest after the 31-year-old played all nine of the Knicks' games to begin the season. Jason Smith will get his third start of the year, which Fisher said was intended regardless of Stoudemire's status.
Stoudemire is averaging 10.9 points and 7.9 rebounds in 23.6 minutes of action for the 2-7 Knicks.
