The NBA's reigning MVP is one step closer to returning to the court.

Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant was without a walking boot at a Thunder practice on Thursday.

Durant underwent surgery to repair a Jones fracture in his right foot on Oct. 16 and is scheduled to be re-evaluated six weeks from that date.

It will likely still be a while before Durant is anywhere near ready to actually rejoin the Thunder, but any indication of progress at this point is good news for an Oklahoma City team that has been decimated by injuries.
