1961 - Oscar Robertson dominates Syracuse

Fresh off his Rookie of the Year campaign, Oscar Robertson continues his hot start to the 1961-62 season by dishing out 22 assists, helping his Cincinnati Royals (now the Sacramento Kings) defeat the Syracuse Nationals, 139-132. Robertson also scores 26 points in the win.

In a historic 1961-62 season for NBA offenses, Robertson goes on to become the first player to average double-figure assists in a season and famously averages a triple-double (30.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, 11.4 assists) over 79 games.

Robertson remains the only player in league history to average a triple-double for an entire season, and his 22-assist game from Oct. 29, 1961 still stands as a franchise record for the Kings (tied with Phil Ford).
