Well, that idea was short-lived.

On Thursday, a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports noted the Minnesota Timberwolves were interest in parting ways with small forward Chase Budinger, to which the Houston Rockets were mentioned as a potential landing spot.

However, a report from Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle notes that the Rockets want no part of Budinger's burdensome contract, which calls for him to be paid $10 million over the next two seasons.

Budinger is a useful player when healthy, but he's played only 64 of 164 games over the past two seasons in Minnesota. He averaged 6.7 points in 41 games played last season.
