VIDEO: DeMar DeRozan throws off-window pass for DeMar DeRozan
DeMar DeRozan is off to a solid start for the Toronto Raptors this preseason as he looks to build on a career year that saw him earn his first All-Star nod.
While he shot just 6-of-16 on Friday, DeRozan's distributing off the bounce has looked better so far, something he flashed with Team USA this summer as well. Perhaps most impressively, DeRozan is displaying a knack for getting talented players the ball in good positions to score.
To wit, here's DeRozan going off-window to...DeRozan, giving him a terrific scoring opportunity:
It's disappointing he doesn't get credited with an assist on that one. He finished with three for the game, to go along with his 18 points and three rebounds.
Jest about the self-pass aside, DeRozan has actually flashed one skill this preseason that should terrify teams: 3-point shooting. It's an incredibly small sample, but DeRozan is 5-of-8 from long range through three outings, providing hope the lone hole in his offensive game may no longer be a major weakness.
