David Stockton gets camp invite with Wizards
There's a Stockton in Washington, which sounds right but isn't exactly what you'd expected.
NBA Hall of Famer John Stockton is best known as a member of the Utah Jazz, but he's a proud native of Spokane, Wash., and an alumni from Gonzaga University. His son, David Stockton, is as well.
Now, David Stockton will be heading to Washington ... D.C., on a training camp invite with the Washington Wizards. The deal was reported by ESPN's Marc Stein on Thursday and, while he didn't specify, it's almost surely a non-guaranteed one.
A 5-foot-11 guard, David Stockton was a nice role player for Gonzaga the past four seasons, specifically in 2013-14 when he averaged 7.4 points and 4.2 assists. He is not, however, an NBA prospect, with his size and lack of a three-point shot standing in his way. Still, it's an extra point guard for camp and fun to see the son – and look-alike – of an NBA legend in the league.
