Grizzlies to give out 'Z-Bow Ties,' wrestling belts, and flip flops this season
When it comes to marketing and in-game promotions, no team in the NBA is on the level of the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies announced their promotional schedule for the 2014-15 season on Tuesday, and some of the highlights are incredible. Enough so that Memphis may be our out-of-town trip for the season. Wrestling belts? Flip flops? Zach Randolph "Z-Bow ties??" This is unbelievable.

Seriously, wrestling belts for a game that's a lock to be a physical affair following playoff series in back-to-back years. It's perfect. As is the mock-up of the Z-Bow tie:

Adding further fuel to their rivalry with the Los Angeles Clippers, the Grizzlies will give out flip flops. Those aren't particularly useful in most locales in late February, but the average high temperature in Memphis that time of year is about 59 degrees, so they're not without value. Plus, you know, shots fired.

There's also something called a "Super Grizz Cape Set," which is probably exactly what it sounds like. All this, from a team that gave out replica James Johnson neck tattoos last season. Every other promotions department is just playing for second place.
