Does Kevin Love know how hot Kevin Love is right now?
Despite rumors of a push from the Chicago Bulls to land the Minnesota Timberwolves forward in a trade, the Cleveland Cavaliers aren't wasting time formulating their own Plan B (or Plan C and D).
The Cavs are pursuing trade components to include as part of a package for the Wolves to acquire Love, according to Yahoo Sports, acquiring John Lucas III, Malcolm Thomas, and Erik Murphy in a trade with the Utah Jazz.
There's no combination of Cleveland players, without No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins, that interests Minnesota. That said, sources indicated the Cavs are hoping to land players with non-guaranteed contracts that could be used in a package for the forward, allowing the team to deliver players that could immediately be released and give Minnesota cap relief in a trade.
