Alright, try to follow the bouncing balls here. The Houston Rockets have merged a pair of their biggest offseason moves into one major, three team, sign-and-trade deal.
The Rockets had previously agreed to send Omer Asik to the New Orleans Pelicans for a first-round pick. This weekend, they agreed to a four-year, $32 million contract with free agent wing Trevor Ariza. On Sunday, they merged those deals, allowing the Wizards to sign-and-trade Ariza to the Rockets.
Here are the details by team, courtesy of David Aldridge of NBA.com:
Houston receives: Ariza from Washington, a protected 2015 first-round pick and Alonzo Gee from New Orleans.
New Orleans receives: Asik, Omri Casspi and $1.5 million from Houston.
Washington receives: Melvin Ely from New Orleans, a $8.5 million trade exception.
So, these are all deals that were well known, they've now just been rolled into one massive transaction. Cool? Cool.
