As the drama surrounding New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony swirls throughout the week, reports have begun to heat up that the Miami Heat may have a trick planned up their sleeve to lure him to South Beach.
Heat forward Chris Bosh quelled the fever slightly on Thursday, pointing out the obvious long shot of such a situation occurring.
After the great free agency coup of 2010 nothing should be ruled out, but there are a number of hurdles that have to be cleared for this discussion to have any merit at all.
LeBron, Wade, and Bosh would all have to opt-out of their contracts as well, and leave more than $6 million each on the table per year in their next contract, and Melo would have to pass up nearly $10 million yearly.
Still, it's fun to dream.
