For the first time since making the All-Rookie squad in 2004-05, Al Jefferson was voted to an All-NBA team, earning third team honors for his excellent 2013-14 season.

The well-deserved nod came in part thanks to a hilarious and aggressive campaign from the Charlotte Hornets - then still the Bobcats - and on Sunday, they took out an ad in the Charlotte Observer to congratulate him.

The Hornets certainly don't owe Jefferson a thank you, but his 21.8 points and 20.8 rebounds a game were instrumental in leading the franchise to just their second ever playoff appearance (although technically, since they are now re-inheriting the old Hornets lineage, it was simply their second playoff appearance in the 10 seasons since their rebirth).
