Meyers Leonard will play for the Trail Blazers' Las Vegas Summer League squad in July, The Columbian reports.
Analysis:
In his second NBA season, Leonard actually saw his role decrease, as he appeared in only 40 games, averaging 2.5 points in 8.9 minutes. The 22-year-old is skilled and athletic for his position, but at this point he lacks the polish necessary to warrant consistent, non-garbage time minutes. Playing in Las Vegas will offer Leonard an opportunity to improve in a setting where he'll be called up on to shoulder a much heavier burden on both ends of the court.
