Blake Griffin suggests farting is a performance enhancer for his dunks
Blake Griffin is one of the most explosive and exciting dunkers in the NBA, to the extent that there is a YouTube compilation of his best 100 dunks. 100!
Obviously, being 6-foot-10 helps, and so does having otherworldly athleticism.
However, Griffin hinted in a recent interview with Rolling Stone that he may have another secret source to help him get up and dunks on the likes of Timofey Mozgov.
Do you ever have stomach problems during a game?
There have been several games where I just had the worst gas. This game against the Knicks my rookie year, one of my teammates was shooting a free throw and I couldn't help myself. A guy on the Knicks went, "Oh my gosh," and covered his nose. The guy next to me said the same thing, so I had to act like it wasn't me. Like, "Oh man, who was that?" I’m sorry, but I did what I had to do. The past is the past. Just like the Creed concert. You had a spectacular dunk over the Knicks' center, Timofey Mozgov in that game. Did you get some extra propulsion from the gas?
I'm not gonna say, 'cause I don’t know if that would be considered cheating. But when I had that dunk, I definitely was, uh, a little lighter.Farts are your performance enhancing drug? I hope that catches on with kids.
[Laughs] "Yo, Mom, did you not read the article? Why can't I fart like Blake?" I might start a PSA campaign. Something for the people.
If you're wondering where the Creed reference came from, Creed was Griffin's first concert, and he'd also play "Creed's greatest hits and put it on shuffle" if NBA players got walk-out music like baseball players do.
The interview is, of course, silly, but it's the last day of the regular season, so go check it out and have a laugh.
