James has spent the majority of the 2013-14 campaign playing in the D-League, where he featured for the Bakersfield Jam between December and February, before being traded to the Texas Legends.
Throughout his stint with the two teams, the 26-year-old has averaged 16.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.0 block per game.
By signing James, the San Antonio Spurs will be filling up their 15th and final roster spot.
