Report: NBA closes investigation into Thunder's Giddey
The NBA closed its investigation into Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey over an alleged relationship with a female minor, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The news comes four months after the Newport Beach Police Department closed its probe against Giddey as it was "unable to corroborate any criminal activity" involving online allegations of an inappropriate relationship with an underage girl.
The allegations surfaced on social media in November. The NBA and Newport Beach PD launched separate investigations into Giddey.
Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault called Giddey's situation a "personal matter" in November.
The 21-year-old Giddey said at his season-ending availability that he had some "dark days" during the campaign, according to reporter Rylan Stiles.
Giddey finished his third season with the Thunder.
