Los Angeles Clippers guard Russell Westbrook is expected to return to the lineup as soon as next week, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 35-year-old could return as early as Monday for Los Angeles' contest against the Indiana Pacers, Wojnarowski added.

Westbrook has been out since March 1 after fracturing his hand against the Washington Wizards. He underwent surgery to repair the injury.

The nine-time All-Star has embraced his role as a backup since being bought out by the Utah Jazz after the 2023 NBA Trade Deadline. The 2016-17 league MVP is averaging 11.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists.

The Clippers are 5-5 in the 10 games without Westbrook and sit fourth in the Western Conference. L.A. is in Portland on Friday night to take on the Trail Blazers.
