LeBron: NBA execs who draft well 'will be working for me' one day
LeBron James is already planning to poach talent from other NBA teams if he gets his own franchise in the future.
On the premiere episode of his and JJ Redick's new podcast "Mind the Game," the Los Angeles Lakers star joked about hiring executives with a history of drafting well to work for him.
"I tell you, when I get my team, the teams that draft well, those guys will be working for me for sure," James said.
He went on to shout out the Oklahoma City Thunder, telling Redick, "OKC does an unbelievable job with that."
James has frequently expressed interest in owning an NBA franchise one day, ideally in Las Vegas, which has been mentioned as a possible candidate to welcome an expansion team. He stated last year that it "just makes sense" to bring the NBA to Las Vegas, given how many other sports teams already call the city home.
