The Philadelphia 76ers are matching restricted free agent Paul Reed's three-year, $23-million offer sheet that he signed with the Utah Jazz, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Reed, who served as MVP center Joel Embiid's primary backup last season, will have veto power over any trade for a year, Wojnarowski reports.

The second and third years of the deal reportedly become guaranteed for $15.7 million if Reed's team advances to the second round of the 2024 playoffs. Philadelphia has done so in five of the last six seasons.

Reed appeared in 69 games in 2022-23, averaging 4.2 points and 3.8 rebounds.

The 24-year-old started two playoff contests in 2023, filling in for an injured Embiid. Reed averaged 10 points and 14 rebounds in those games, helping Philadelphia clinch its series victory over the Brooklyn Nets and win Game 1 against the Boston Celtics.

The 76ers selected Reed with the No. 58 overall pick in the 2020 draft.
