Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban doesn't appear to be sweating his team's recent $750,000 fine.

After the Mavs were fined Friday for conduct detrimental to the NBA, including violating the league's player resting policy, Cuban told Dalton Briggs of DallasBasketball.com that he plans to match the fine by making a donation to an unspecified charity.

The Mavs sat out several starters and pulled Luka Doncic after the first quarter of their 115-112 loss to the Chicago Bulls on April 7, which eliminated them from playoff contention. NBA executive vice president Joe Dumars said in a statement that the Mavs' decision to rest key players "undermined the integrity of our sport."

The loss to the Bulls also put Dallas in a better position to keep its top-10 protected pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. If the pick falls out of the top 10, it goes to the New York Knicks as a result of the 2019 Kristaps Porzingis trade.

This is the first time since 2019 that the Mavs failed to advance to the postseason.
