Warriors' Iguodala: Steph is 'closest thing to Jesus Christ' I've met

Golden State Warriors veteran forward Andre Iguodala made quite the comparison while discussing teammate Stephen Curry.

Appearing on the "Club Shay Shay" podcast with Shannon Sharpe, Iguodala likened Curry to Jesus Christ when it comes to his ability to stay true to himself.

"When I signed with the Warriors (in) 2013 - and you do the press conference, you say what you're supposed to say. PC. 'I'm coming here to try to win a championship.' Nobody takes you serious but I'm saying to myself, I think I've met the closest thing to Jesus Christ," Iguodala said. "Not to put that on him, but I've never seen an individual... he doesn't stray away from who he is in terms of who he is as a person. So you know what you're getting night in, night out. And I can see it. And so I'm thinking, I'm about to go try to win a championship."

Iguodala went on to win three championships during his first stint with Golden State from 2013-19, and captured another in 2022 after rejoining the team the previous year.

This will be Iguodala's final season playing alongside Curry, as he announced in September that he plans to retire after his 19th campaign.
