Tatum: Jordan 'didn't text me' after dropping 51 points on Hornets

Jayson Tatum says he was met with silence from Michael Jordan following his 51-point performance against the Charlotte Hornets last month.

"He'll text me every once in a while when I have a big game, but he didn't text me after that one," the Boston Celtics star and Jordan Brand athlete told Pierce Simpson of Complex Sports.

The 51 points were a season high for Tatum, who also added nine rebounds and five assists in the Celtics' 130-118 win over the Hornets on Jan. 16.

Tatum suspects that Jordan's decision not to text him after the game might've been intentional, but he still appreciates when the Hornets owner does reach out.

"I know he watches all the Hornets games, so he saw," Tatum said. "Even when (he) does reach out and text me after a good game, that's still pretty surreal. Even when I see his name come across my phone, it still doesn't seem real."

Tatum and the Celtics will face Jordan's Hornets again on Feb. 10 in Boston.
