Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic left Thursday's 99-95 victory against the Phoenix Suns after suffering a left ankle sprain.

The injury occurred three minutes into the game after the Mavericks star stepped on the foot of Suns wing Mikal Bridges while attempting a move offensively.

The X-ray performed on Doncic's ankle came back negative, reports Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News.

"We'll see as we go forward here. We'll have more information once we get to Utah," Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd told Caplan about Doncic's potential availability in the team's next game against the Jazz on Saturday.

The Mavericks were able to hold on against the Suns without their superstar thanks to a season-high 36-point performance from guard Spencer Dinwiddie.

Doncic was selected to his fourth straight All-Star Game earlier Thursday. The league-leading scorer has averaged 33.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 8.6 assists this season.

The Mavericks have a minus-6.3 net rating on the floor when Doncic sits, according to NBA.com.

The 23-year-old has missed five games this season due to minor quad and ankle injuries.
