Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry returned to the starting lineup for Tuesday's 125-113 loss to the Phoenix Suns.

The two-time MVP showed signs of rust, posting 24 points on just 8-of-22 shooting - including a 5-of-15 mark from downtown - in 31 minutes of action.

Curry hadn't played since sustaining a shoulder injury Dec. 14 versus the Indiana Pacers. He was originally scheduled to miss at least two weeks.

The Warriors stayed afloat during the eight-time All-Star's absence, posting a 6-5 record. Fourth-year guard Jordan Poole stepped up during that span, registering 27.9 points and 4.1 assists per contest.

Prior to being sidelined, Curry was averaging 30 points, 6.8 assists, and 6.6 boards over 26 appearances. He ranks third in the Association in free-throw percentage (91.9%) and ninth in 3-point percentage (43.4%).

Golden State is scoring 13.4 more points per 100 possessions with Curry on the floor.

The Warriors now sit eighth in the West with a 20-21 mark.
