The Minnesota Timberwolves have been involved in trade discussions surrounding veteran centers, including Atlanta Hawks big man Clint Capela, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Minnesota, which ranked 25th in defensive rebounding during the 2021-22 campaign, relied on a combination of Karl-Anthony Towns and Naz Reid at center last season. Capela's averaged 10.7 rebounds per game through eight NBA seasons.
The Swiss native is owed more than $61 million after signing a contract extension with the Hawks that runs through the 2024-25 campaign.
The Timberwolves finished as the seventh seed in the West with a 46-36 record this season. Minnesota fell in the first round of the postseason in six games against the Memphis Grizzlies.
