Brooklyn Nets point forward Ben Simmons won't play in Game 4 of the team's first-round series against the Boston Celtics after previous reports suggested the former All-Star would make his debut for the club.

It's been 11 eventful months since Simmons passed up a wide-open dunk in the playoffs, and Twitter tapped into a well full of jokes and takes about the three-time All-Star's latest situation.

NBA legend Reggie Miller voiced his displeasure with Simmons' decision and questioned his competitive spirit.

During halftime of the Denver Nuggets and Golden State Warriors' playoff tilt, ESPN mainstay Stephen A. Smith called Simmons' situation "pathetic."
