Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is unlikely to play in Game 2 of the Western Conference quarterfinals versus the Utah Jazz as he nurses his strained calf, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Tim MacMahon.

Doncic missed the team's Game 1 defeat with the injury, which he sustained during the regular-season finale.

He'd need to experience significant improvement in his calf to obtain clearance for Game 2 on Monday, according to Wojnarowski.

The 23-year-old guard averaged 28.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 8.7 assists in the regular season, leading the Mavericks to the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference. Jalen Brunson scored a team-high 24 points in Game 1 against the Jazz as the Mavericks fell 99-93.

Dallas entered the playoffs looking to win a series for the first time since its championship season in 2010-11. The Mavericks lost to the Los Angeles Clippers in the quarterfinals in each of the last two postseasons.
