Golden State Warriors center James Wiseman was admittedly nervous before seeing his first game action in 11 months Thursday.

The 20-year-old told reporters he turned to NBA 2K, among other things, to help ease his nerves ahead of his debut with the G League's Santa Cruz Warriors.

"I was nervous a lot, but like, I meditated this morning, so it kind of chilled, calmed me down," Wiseman said. "And also I played 2K last night, so I was just like getting buckets with KD (Kevin Durant)."

Wiseman, the No. 2 overall pick of the 2020 draft, finished with 18 points and six rebounds in a loss to the Stockton Kings. It was his first game since suffering a right meniscal tear on April 15, 2021.

"It felt like a dream 'cause it'd been like 10 months, a year, and I was just shocked to be out there," Wiseman said. "But I was grateful and super appreciative to be out there as well."

Wiseman is also set to play in Santa Cruz's contest against the G League Ignite on Sunday as he works toward returning to Golden State's lineup.
