Houston Rockets rookie Usman Garuba is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks of action after undergoing wrist surgery, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Garuba was the 23rd pick in last year's NBA draft and appeared in 15 games for the Rockets this season. He's totaled 19 points on 8-of-24 shooting from the field.

The Spaniard also suited up in 11 games with the Rockets' G League affiliate Rio Grande Valley Vipers, where he averaged a near double-double with 9.2 points and 9.3 rebounds.
