Report: Bucks' Budenholzer enters protocols, won't coach vs. Raps
Milwaukee Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer will miss Wednesday's game against the Toronto Raptors after entering the league's COVID-19 health and safety protocols, sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Bucks assistant Darvin Ham will serve as acting head coach in Budenholzer's absence, according to Wojnarowski.
Budenholzer becomes the 12th NBA head coach to enter protocols this campaign, basketball insider Marc Stein notes. He'll have to produce two negative COVID-19 test results 24 hours apart before he's able to rejoin the team.
The 52-year-old bench boss has earned a 187-79 regular-season record since joining Milwaukee ahead of the 2018-19 campaign. Budenholzer most notably helped end the Bucks' 50-year championship drought, capturing the Larry O'Brien Trophy last season.
After winning a title, Milwaukee rewarded Budenholzer with a three-year contract extension.
