Spencer Dinwiddie was hoping to land a jersey patch deal with the Washington Wizards, but the NBA apparently wasn't keen on the idea.

The Wizards guard revealed Monday at the team's media day that the league rejected his attempt to purchase a jersey patch to advertise cryptocurrency.

Dinwiddie later tweeted that he had hoped to promote Calaxy, a blockchain-based app he launched for creators.

The 28-year-old joined the Wizards in August in a sign-and-trade after spending the last five seasons with the Brooklyn Nets. He's coming off a partial ACL tear that limited him to three games last season.
