The Miami Heat are exploring pathways to acquire free-agent guard DeMar DeRozan, sources told NBA insider Marc Stein.

Miami reportedly declined Andre Iguodala's $15-million team option for 2021-22 to create some additional financial flexibility ahead of free agency.

DeRozan spent the past three seasons with the San Antonio Spurs, averaging 21.6 points, 6.2 assists, and 5.3 boards over 206 appearances. The Spurs acquired the four-time All-Star from the Toronto Raptors three years ago in the Kawhi Leonard blockbuster deal.

Miami also exercised Goran Dragic's $19.4-million team option for next season in order to potentially include him in a sign-and-trade deal for DeRozan's former backcourt partner Kyle Lowry, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Free-agent forward Nicolas Batum has also been linked to the Heat.
