Dallas Mavericks guard JJ Redick is out for at least the remainder of the regular season due to right heel soreness, head coach Rick Carlisle said Wednesday, according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon.

Redick suffered the injury during Tuesday's contest versus the New Orleans Pelicans. He missed 18 games earlier this season after undergoing a non-surgical procedure to relieve the same ailment.

Dallas acquired Redick from New Orleans ahead of the trade deadline. The veteran is averaging 4.4 points and shooting 39.5% from deep over 13 appearances with the Mavs.

Meanwhile, the club did get some good news on the injury front. Star big man Kristaps Porzingis is available for Wednesday's matchup after missing seven straight games due to right knee soreness, the team announced before tipoff.

Dallas has two more regular-season contests remaining after Wednesday's tilt. The NBA playoffs begin May 22.
