With his 28 points, 13 rebounds, and 21 assists versus the Atlanta Hawks on Monday, Washington Wizards guard Russell Westbrook became the all-time career leader in triple-doubles, passing NBA legend Oscar Robertson's longstanding record of 181.
The Wizards fell 125-124 to Atlanta, with Westbrook missing a 3-pointer in the dying seconds for the win.
During his Hall of Fame-worthy career to date, Westbrook has tallied 138 triple-doubles with the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2008 to 2019, eight with the Houston Rockets in 2019-20, and 36 with the Wizards this season.
"It's just a blessing ... You put so much into the game. Just to be mentioned with guys like Oscar, Magic, Jason Kidd, those guys," said Westbrook.
"It's just something I would never have dreamt about. Normally I don't like to pat myself on the back, but tonight I will. I am just so grateful for those that came before me."
Here's how the 32-year-old stacks up against the top 10 on the all-time leaderboard:
