The Toronto Raptors signed Khem Birch after the center cleared waivers, the team announced Saturday.

Birch, 28, agreed to a buyout with the Orlando Magic this past Thursday to find a team that would give him more playing time.

The Montreal native was competing with centers Wendell Carter Jr. and Mo Bamba for minutes in Orlando but now finds himself on a Raptors team in need of frontcourt depth. Chris Boucher and Aron Baynes are the only big men Toronto has under contract.

Birch is averaging 5.3 points and 5.1 rebounds in 19.8 minutes per game across 48 appearances this season. He made his NBA debut with the Magic during the 2017-18 campaign after going undrafted in 2014.
