Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis is expected to miss four weeks recovering from a calf strain, head coach Frank Vogel told reporters, including ESPN's Dave McMenamin, following his team's loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday.

Davis was re-evaluated by team doctors Thursday, and the revised recovery schedule includes time for him to fully rehab and participate in practice before returning to game action, McMenamin adds.

The 27-year-old previously missed two games and reaggravated his initial injury against the Denver Nuggets on Feb. 14 after banging legs with Nikola Jokic. He was originally expected to miss two-to-three weeks.

Davis is averaging 22.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, and 1.3 steals in 23 games this season.
