Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving was in the starting lineup for Wednesday's matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Nets head coach Steve Nash said Irving won't be on a minutes restriction in his return to action.

"We hope that he doesn't have to play 40 minutes tonight and I'll leave it at that," Nash said, according to Forbes' Adam Zagoria.

Irving missed five contests for personal reasons and an additional two games to ramp up his basketball activity. Brooklyn went 5-2 during his absence.

The six-time All-Star was recently fined $50,000 for violating the NBA's health and safety protocols after video surfaced showing him maskless at a large gathering.

Wednesday's tilt will mark the first time Irving takes the floor alongside the newly acquired James Harden.

Irving is averaging 27.1 points on 50.4% shooting over seven appearances this season.
