Atlanta Hawks guard Bogdan Bogdanovic has been diagnosed with an avulsion fracture in his right knee, the team announced Sunday.
The Hawks will update Bogdanovic's recovery timetable later this week.
The 28-year-old suffered the injury in the second quarter of Saturday's loss to the Charlotte Hornets. He needed assistance returning to the locker room after his knee appeared to buckle, and he was later ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Bogdanovic joined Atlanta this past offseason after the Sacramento Kings decided not to match the Hawks' four-year, $72-million offer sheet.
The Serbian is averaging 9.9 points on 38.5% shooting along with 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists through nine appearances this season.
