Detroit Pistons rookie Killian Hayes will be sidelined indefinitely after suffering a labral tear in his hip, the team announced Wednesday.

Hayes was forced to exit Monday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks early in the third quarter after injuring himself while trying to pick off a pass on the fast break.

Pistons head coach Dwane Casey confirmed Tuesday that Hayes was slated to undergo an MRI on his right hip to determine the severity of the injury.

Hayes, 19, has started seven games for the Pistons during his rookie campaign, posting 4.6 points per game on 27.7% shooting. Detroit selected him with the seventh overall pick in the 2020 draft.
