As tensions surrounding disgruntled superstar James Harden continue to rise ahead of the season, he's beginning to clash with his Houston Rockets teammates behind the scenes.
Harden has had several confrontations with teammates in recent days, including one on Monday during which he threw a ball at rookie Jae'Sean Tate, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
The 31-year-old held out for the start of training camp and still awaits a resolution to his reported trade request.
The Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, and Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly among Harden's preferred destinations. However, the Heat reportedly dropped out of talks.
Harden is under contract through at least the end of the 2021-22 season, with a player option for 2022-23 worth $47.4 million.
He averaged a league-high 34.3 points per outing last campaign, adding an additional 7.5 assists, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.8 steals. The Rockets made their eighth straight postseason appearance, which is the league's longest active playoff streak.
