Free-agent center DeMarcus Cousins has signed a one-year deal with the Houston Rockets, he told ESPN's Marc J. Spears.

The contract is non-guaranteed, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Cousins, 30, missed all of last season after tearing his left ACL in the summer of 2019 as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Once the preeminent center in the NBA, Cousins' career was derailed somewhat after rupturing his left Achilles in 2018 while with the New Orleans Pelicans. He averaged 16.3 points and 8.2 rebounds in 30 games for the Golden State Warriors in 2018-19.
