Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics have agreed to a five-year, $195-million designated rookie max extension, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

With contract escalators, Tatum - who was named to the All-NBA third team last season - could earn close to $200 million. The contract comes with a player option after the fourth year, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.

The 22-year-old blossomed into an All-Star in 2019-20, averaging 23.4 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and 1.4 steals per game. He shot 40% from beyond the arc.

Donovan Mitchell and De'Aaron Fox - two other prominent members of the 2017 draft class - have also signed max rookie extensions since free agency opened on Friday.
