The Miami Heat and free-agent forward Moe Harkless agreed to a one-year contract worth $3.6 million, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Harkless declined higher-paying deals in order to play in Miami and become a free agent again in 2021, Wojnarowski adds.

Harkless split 62 games last season with the Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks. He played in 50 games for the former but was shipped to New York at the deadline as part of the three-team deal that sent Marcus Morris to the Clippers. He averaged a combined 5.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 23 minutes per game. The 27-year-old is expected to provide needed depth for Miami.

The Heat have quickly gone to work in order to keep key pieces of the squad that made The Finals last season. Veteran guard Goran Dragic announced Friday he agreed to a new deal and center Meyers Leonard is also reportedly staying with the club.
