Toronto Raptors assistant Nate Bjorkgren interviewed for the Indiana Pacers' head coaching vacancy, Raptors bench boss Nick Nurse confirmed Wednesday on SiriusXM NBA Radio.

Bjorkgren has spent the past two seasons on the reigning Coach of the Year's staff. He was also an assistant under Nurse with the D-League's (now NBA G League) Iowa Energy from 2007-2011.

The 45-year-old Bjorkgren became the Energy's head coach two years later and guided the club to a 17-win improvement during his only season in charge.

Bjorkgren engineered another turnaround with the D-League's Bakersfield Jam, posting a 34-16 mark as head coach in 2014-15. He was subsequently promoted to assistant coach with the Phoenix Suns.

Mike D'Antoni, Mike Brown, Becky Hammon, Chauncey Billups, and Dave Joerger reportedly are among other candidates for the Pacers gig.
