The Charlotte Hornets have signed former Kentucky forward Kahlil Whitney to an Exhibit 10 deal, he told NJ.com's Adam Zagoria.

Whitney, the 12th-ranked overall recruit in the 2019 class, left the Wildcats midway through his first collegiate season, announcing on Twitter that he needed to "make a difficult decision quickly" to "work toward (his) ultimate goal."

In 18 appearances (eight starts), the Chicago native put up 3.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in just under 13 minutes per game. Whitney topped double digits in scoring just once, shooting 5-of-8 from the floor for 11 points against Eastern Kentucky last November.
