The NBA is planning to commence its draft combine process beginning late September, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

In-person draft workouts and interviews are currently barred by the league as a safety precaution.

The middle of September and early October will reportedly include in-market medicals, on-court workouts, and virtual interviews. In-person interviews with prospects - but no workouts - will follow.

The move may provide some clarity as to how the 2020 draft process will work. Up until now the draft combine has been postponed, although in recent years top prospects have avoided it in favor of in-person workouts for select teams.

The draft itself has been postponed twice since the pandemic began, with reports this week saying the league is now aiming for a Nov. 18 event.

The Minnesota Timberwolves won last month's draft lottery and are set to select first.
